"The Gérard Philipe writing desk is one of the first “slatted” models, created by Jules Wabbes at the beginning of the 1950s. The “work desk” or “bureau of compartments” was named after the famous actor because he was one of its Wabbes’ first clients. Wabbes spent a lot of time in the world of theatre. He was a member of the comedy troupe Comédiens Routiers during the war. The bureau exhibited at the 1957 Milan Triennial won a Silver medal.
