To consider these days designing a new mailbox calls for an up-to-date interpretation of its function. The hand of fabrica can be seen in its revitalized appearance and particularly in the allusion to that other mail, e-mail, which also has a role to play in the project. The new Mailbox has a space for an identifying label that is configured with an Internet address. Those fortunate enough to have the new mailbox in the hall or lobby will also find, at –www.fabrica.it/mailme–, a catalogue of messages to personalize their pigeon-hole. It is the transition from the past to the future of postal communication. Central bodies and side covers in steel plate painted metallic grey. Doors injected with polycarbonate, semi-translucent in black, blue or orange and opaque in green or white. Label-holder in transparent perspex and self-closing lock in plated zamack.
