The Panton Chair is a furniture design classic. Verner Panton created it back in 1960, and together with Vitra, he developed a version that was ready for series production (1967). It was the very first single mould all plastic chair. Since its market launch, the Panton Chair has undergone several production phases. Not until today has it been possible to produce it in line with Panton’s original idea – namely from tough plastic that is consistently dyed and has a matt surface. The chair offers great sitting comfort thanks to its cantilever base, flexible materials and shape, which is shaped to the human form. Its sculptural shape means that it looks good by itself or grouped together. It can be used indoors and outdoors.
The Panton Chair has won various design prizes world-wide and graces the collections of numerous renowned museums. Its expressive shape makes it a true 20th-century design icon.
