Naoto Fukasawa joined Vitra to develop the Kuubo table system with the goal of maximising flexibility for users and with a focus on sleek, formal design. Kuubo lends itself to many different work processes, particularly when open communication is practiced.
The spacious work platform floats on cylindrical column bases and acts as a central platform in the open plan office for both planned and ad-hoc meetings. It is perfect for discussions in small or large groups, presentations, team project work, temporary independent work, meetings, but also for social congregations and special occasions.
Kuubo is a work platform that was tailored for contemporary, flexible work organisation (team work, communication among equals) and the use of modern technology (laptop, mobile telecommunication). This makes Kuubo a project table, presentation platform, conference table, territorial or temporary workstation all at the same time. Creative work driven by the exchange of ideas is facilitated and cultivated. The large, elegant Kuubo tabletop has a sleek, light feel. There are no added fixtures dictating how the table should be used – although, thanks to its compartments, it serves many different purposes where importance is placed on communication. The compartment provides the required storage space and can also be locked. Cables can be fed through at the bottom of the column base. Kuubo is also available in a striking combination featuring a dark oak tabletop and column bases made of shiny, anodised aluminium.
